Legal

Terms of
Service.

Last updated: April 2026. These terms apply to all users of Bajaiyo - artists and venues. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

Important: licences for playing music.

Bajaiyo does not provide music playing licences to venues. If your venue plays music for customers - whether through Bajaiyo or otherwise - you are responsible for holding the appropriate performing rights licences (such as PPL and IPRS in India). Bajaiyo is a music promotion marketplace only.

For Artists

You keep your copyright.

Bajaiyo is a promotion platform, not a label. By joining, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to share your track titles and artist name with partner venues for scheduling and promotion purposes only. You retain full ownership and copyright of all your music, recordings, and creative work. We claim no ownership over your music - ever.

What we do for you.

We match your music to venues that fit your genre and audience, schedule placements, and send you time-stamped proof of every play. We act as your promotion partner, not your distributor or manager.

What we need from you.

You must have the rights to the music you submit. Do not submit tracks you do not own or have clearance for. By submitting music to Bajaiyo, you confirm you hold the necessary rights to permit its promotion and venue play within India.

Fees and payments.

Artist fees are charged as described on the pricing page at time of signup. Fees cover the promotion service only - not venue licensing or distribution. No refunds once venue placements have been scheduled, unless Bajaiyo fails to deliver the agreed placements.

Cancellation.

You can cancel your plan at any time from your account or by emailing contact@bajaiyo.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pre-scheduled plays already confirmed will still play out.

For Venues

Music playing licences are your responsibility.

Bajaiyo is a music promotion marketplace, not a music licensing platform. We do not provide, arrange, or take responsibility for the licences required to play music publicly in your venue (such as PPL, IPRS, or any other applicable licence in your jurisdiction). It is entirely your responsibility to hold the necessary music performing rights licences before playing any music - including music promoted through Bajaiyo. We strongly recommend consulting a legal professional or the relevant licensing body if you are unsure about your obligations.

What we do for you.

We provide a curated playlist of independent artists that fits your venue's genre and vibe. We handle scheduling, artist coordination, and monthly payments to you for hosting the promotion.

Your earnings.

Venue earnings are calculated based on confirmed plays and are paid monthly via direct bank transfer. Bajaiyo reserves the right to audit play reports. Venues found misreporting plays will be removed from the platform and forfeit any pending earnings.

What we need from you.

Play the music as scheduled. Report plays honestly. Keep your music setup (speaker, device, connectivity) functional. Notify us promptly if you need to pause or exit the programme.

Cancellation.

Either party may terminate the venue agreement with 30 days written notice to contact@bajaiyo.com. Bajaiyo may terminate immediately if a venue is found to misrepresent plays or violates these terms.

General

Platform use.

Bajaiyo is a marketplace that facilitates connections between artists and venues. We are not a record label, distributor, performing rights organisation, or music licensor. We do not act as an agent or legal representative of either artists or venues.

Prohibited conduct.

Do not use Bajaiyo to submit music you do not have rights to, to misrepresent play counts, to harass or abuse other users, or to circumvent any part of the platform. Violations will result in immediate account suspension.

Limitation of liability.

Bajaiyo's liability to any user is limited to the amounts paid by that user to Bajaiyo in the 3 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. We are not liable for any licensing or legal issues arising from a venue playing music without the appropriate performing rights licences.

Governing law.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi, India.

Changes to these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of Bajaiyo after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
